Hydro Jetting.
The Real Fix.

A snake pokes a hole through the clog. Hydro jetting scrubs the whole pipe wall back to bare pipe with high-pressure water — grease, scale, sludge, and roots go with it. If the same drain keeps clogging in Lexington, Richmond, or anywhere in Central Kentucky, this is the machine that ends the cycle. Flat-rate, quoted before we start.

What hydro jetting actually does

Hydro jetting cleans a drain or sewer line with high-pressure water. A jetting nozzle travels down the pipe and blasts water backward and outward against the pipe walls, scouring off the buildup a cable can't touch — hardened grease, soap scale, sludge, and the fine root matter left behind after a main line gets cut. Everything washes downstream and out of the line, leaving the full pipe diameter open instead of a hole through the middle of the clog.

That difference is why some drains clog again a few months after they get snaked. The cable restored flow, but the pipe walls stayed coated — and the coating catches the next wad of grease or paper that comes down the line. Jetting resets the pipe to clean walls, so there's nothing left for the next clog to grab onto. It's the same reason our Blue Light trenchless lining crews jet a host pipe before a liner ever goes in: the process is camera inspection, high-pressure cleaning, liner installation, LED cure, then a final camera pass to verify.

We run jetting as part of our drain cleaning service across Lexington, Richmond, and Central Kentucky — same trucks, same crews, same flat-rate quote before we touch anything.

Snake it or jet it?

Two different machines for two different problems. We carry both on the truck and tell you honestly which one your drain needs.

THE FIRST CALL

Cable (Snake)

A rotating cable punches through the clog and restores flow. Right answer for most single clogs — toilets, sinks, first-time main line stoppages.

  • Fast — most clogs cleared in one visit
  • Right call for hair, paper, single obstructions
  • Flat-rate, quoted before we start
THE REAL FIX FOR REPEAT CLOGS

Hydro Jetting

High-pressure water scrubs the pipe wall back to bare pipe — grease, scale, and root fine matter go with it. If the same drain keeps clogging, jetting fixes what cabling only postpones.

  • Cleans the full pipe diameter, not a hole through the middle
  • The answer for grease-heavy kitchen and restaurant lines
  • Pairs with a camera pass so you see the result

Camera-first honesty

  • We scope before we jet. A sewer camera inspection typically runs $189 — a paid diagnostic, quoted upfront and credited toward the repair when you book the work — so the decision to jet comes from what's on screen, not a sales pitch. See our sewer camera cost guide for how that works.
  • If the pipe itself is broken, jetting isn't the answer. Roots, bellies, cracks, and collapse show up on camera. When the pipe needs repair, Blue Light trenchless CIPP lining and PB30 pipe bursting can often rehab it without digging up the yard — and jetting becomes the prep step, not the fix.
  • If all you need is a cable job, that's what we'll tell you. No "while we're here" upsells.

Wondering what it costs?

Drain cleaning in the Lexington/Richmond area runs $159–$389 depending on the job — hydro-jet, snake, or mechanical clearing. Every job is flat-rate and quoted upfront: you approve the exact price before work starts, whether it's a kitchen grease line, a rooty main, or pre-lining cleaning. No hourly meter running, no surprise invoice at the end.

We publish a plain-English breakdown of how drain work is priced — what makes a job cheaper or more expensive, and when jetting is worth it over another cable pass — in our drain cleaning cost guide. You can see how we price everything else on our upfront pricing page. And if a sewer line is backing up into the house right now, skip the reading and hit our 24/7 emergency sewer service — real humans answer around the clock.

Hydro jetting questions

Hydro jetting cleans a drain or sewer line with high-pressure water. Instead of punching a hole through the clog the way a cable does, the jet nozzle scrubs the full pipe diameter back to bare pipe — grease, scale, sludge, and root fine matter wash downstream and out of the line. It's the fix when the same drain keeps clogging.
A cable (snake) opens most single clogs and is the right first call for a toilet, sink, or first-time main line stoppage. Hydro jetting is the answer when the same line keeps clogging with grease, scale, or roots — the cable opened a hole, but the pipe walls are still coated. We carry both machines as part of our drain cleaning service and tell you honestly which one your drain needs, quoted flat-rate before we start.
We camera-inspect first, so we know what the pipe is made of and what condition it's in before any jetting starts. If the camera shows the pipe itself is broken, bellied, or collapsed, jetting isn't the honest answer — the pipe needs repair, and trenchless options like Blue Light CIPP lining can often fix it without digging up the yard.
Drain cleaning in the Lexington/Richmond area runs $159–$389 depending on the job — hydro-jet, snake, or mechanical clearing — and every job is flat-rate and quoted upfront before work starts. A standalone sewer camera inspection typically runs $189 — a paid diagnostic, quoted upfront and credited toward the repair when you book the work. Yes — 24/7/365 including holidays, with same-day service across most of Central Kentucky. The drain price stays the same; after-hours emergency response adds a stated response fee that we tell you on the phone before a truck rolls. Sewer backing up right now? Head to our emergency sewer page or just call 859-408-3382.
Yes. The HammerHead Bluelight LED CIPP lining process starts with a camera inspection, then high-pressure cleaning of the host pipe before the resin liner goes in and gets cured with blue-wavelength LED light. The liner needs a clean pipe wall to bond to, so jetting is the prep step that makes trenchless sewer rehab possible.
